I went to Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow last Tuesday. It was a Malaysian Holiday + School Holiday = Very, very hectic, crowded motorshow! My advice for people going this weekend; buy your tickets online or buy via credit card once you are there. The queue line is wee bit shorter than the 6 to 8 lines of cash payment. Thanks Bear for chauffeuring me there!

In Seremban, there's endless supply of 'models' (if you're not particular with age & gender ;P) that is if most of your relatives (in my case my wife's relatives) are living nearby and would not pass the chance for a free photo shooting spree =). More CLS on Hari Raya Haji, this time i decided to use my mum's blue curtain as a backdrop for our annual family photo shoot. This time i used 1x Digicolour 180w light strobe on stand and bounce to a silver umbrella angled at 45 degree to my left as my main light, 1x Digicolour 180w light strobe on stand on barndoors & honeycomb for hair light on my right and 1x SB600 at bottom right to fill. All lights are triggered by Phottix Atlas radio trigger. Here are some of the images.

14 November 2010: Fun with CLS @Home

Since i went to Ted Adnan's Lighting Seminar and attended the FOC outdoor outing for the practical session, I'm getting addicted to Nikon's CLS - Creative Lighting System; everyday, constantly changing settings, light setups, buying stuff i don't even know how to use (yet!). But CLS is a lot of fun and I'll practice it as much as i possibly can. I still can't believe that after a mere light setup and the correct light & camera settings; I'm able to capture images which do not require heavy editing/photoshoping/lightrooming/etc. I can't really explain the satisfaction of the images produced (well there's still room for improvement/exploration and not patting myself in the back so much ;P). I have to try other setups, locations, conditions, etc just to see what images can be produced. Well here are some of my pics having fun with CLS....

Equipment used: D300s, Nikon 17-55mm f2.8, 2x light stand, 1x umbrella, 3x Phottix Atlas radio triggers, 2x speedlight light stand holder & not forgetting my very own VAL - Voice Activated Light stand

In my quest for knowledge, i've decided to take-up Enche Ted Adnan's Lighting Seminar who was a so called Strobist Guru/Master/Sifu/etc in Malaysia...(some say in the Philipines too). Anyway I've booked the class way back in June or July for the early bird offer. The seminar's price tag was fairly reasonable & the seminar was an eye opener for me. Thank you Ted & Crew for this knowledge sharing session. I hope there will be others line up for me to sign up!

I was in Melaka last 2 weeks for a cousin's engagement & an outdoor pre-wed portraiture. I must say that I'm impressed with Melaka for having such beautiful backdrop for both events. I will definitely come back here to hunt for more scenes besides the asam pedas, coconut milkshake, trishaw ride and the list can go on and on and on. Well here's a teaser for the engagement.

At long last, The Wiggles Live in Concert Malaysia!: Wiggly Circus. My kids have waited for something like this for a quite sometime. Having missed out on the chance to see them in Perth 2 years ago. I'm not going to let this slip by. Bought the tickets way back in March and made sure they get the best seats in the house. We went early and got the chance to meet/photograph them in person before the concert. Thanks to ASTRO TV IQ for bringing them here. My wife even made a bone for Wags & flowers for Dorothy. It was fun & entertaining for the whole family. Here are some teasers of the concert. Hope you enjoy them! I know my kids & I did!
